Role & responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of Android TV playback features using ExoPlayer and related Android media technologies.
- Support implementation of hybrid playback solutions integrating native video playback with HTML5 WebView-based UI layers.
- Assist in optimising playback performance, including startup time, buffering, and video quality across Android TV devices.
- Collaborate with frontend and platform teams to improve integration between WebView UI and native playback components.
- Help maintain and improve player architecture, including logging, monitoring, and debugging tools.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Required Qualifications:
- Professional software engineering experience or relevant academic background
- Experience developing Android applications, ideally with some exposure to Android TV
- Familiarity with ExoPlayer or other Android media playback frameworks
- Basic understanding of streaming protocols such as HLS and DASH
- Experience or interest in hybrid applications using WebView and web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript)
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java
- Solid willingness to learn and develop expertise in video playback technologies and device ecosystems.
