Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of traded financial products, particularly equities and equity derivatives, including futures and options.
- Monitor and analyse trading positions, exposures, P&L;, and portfolio-level risk across trading strategies.
- Apply and interpret key risk metrics and concepts, including Value at Risk (VaR), exposure, volatility, concentration risk, and drawdown.
- Monitor trading activities against defined risk limits, exposure limits, position limits, and other risk parameters.
- Develop a sound understanding of Risk Management Systems (RMS) used by broking firms, including their role in monitoring and controlling trading risk.
- Identify potential risk issues, limit breaches, abnormal positions, and other areas requiring attention, and escalate them appropriately.
- Analyse the impact of market movements, position changes, and trading activity on overall portfolio risk and P&L.;
- Collaborate with trading, strategy, technology, and other relevant teams to strengthen risk monitoring and controls.
- Build, maintain,



and enhance automated risk monitoring tools, analytics, and dashboards, with a robust focus on Python-based solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of risk monitoring and reporting processes through automation.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of risk frameworks and risk controls across trading strategies.

Skills Required
- Strong understanding of financial markets and traded products, particularly equities, equity futures, and equity options.
- Understanding of trading risk management concepts, including exposure, volatility, VaR, concentration risk, position limits, and drawdown control.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Systems (RMS) used by broking firms and an understanding of how trading risks and limits are monitored and controlled.
