Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IBM API Connect (APIC) Developer with robust domain expertise in Banking and Financial Services. In this role, you will design, build, secure, and manage API gateways and lifecycle management platforms to connect core banking applications, digital channels, payment gateways, and open banking ecosystems.

Role & Responsibilities
- API Design & Lifecycle Management: Design, configure, document, and publish RESTful APIs and OpenAPI Specifications (OAS/Swagger) within IBM API Connect (v10.x / Cloud Pak for Integration).
- Gateway & Policy Development: Create custom API policies, assemblies, routing logic, rate-limiting rules, and data transformations (JSON to XML, SOAP to REST) using GatewayScript, XSLT, and Javascript.
- Banking Integrations: Securely expose backend banking services (Core Banking, Payments, Cards, Wealth Management) and integrate with message brokers (IBM MQ, Kafka) and Enterprise Service Busses (IIB/ACE).
- API Security & Governance:



Implement robust financial security protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), Mutual TLS (mTLS), JWT token validation, payload encryption, and API Key validation.
- Developer Portal Administration: Manage and customize the APIC Developer Portal for third-party fintech integration, sandbox testing, and partner onboarding.
- Operations & Troubleshooting: Perform API traffic monitoring, analytics tracking, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis (RCA) using tools like IBM DataPower, Splunk, or ELK stack.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Technical Skills: Deep experience with IBM API Connect, IBM DataPower Gateway, GatewayScript, XSLT, OpenAPI (Swagger), OAuth 2.0, Node.js, and JSON/XML processing.
- Banking Domain Knowledge: Hands-on understanding of Open Banking standards (PSD2, FAPI), ISO 20022 messaging, SWIFT payment flows, and digital banking architectures.
