Job Overview:
The Pharma Aide is responsible for supporting the hospital pharmacy team in the safe, effective, and timely dispensing of medications to patients while adhering to NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) standards and hospital protocols. The role requires a focus on maintaining a high level of patient safety, proper documentation, inventory management, and assisting pharmacists in providing appropriate pharmaceutical care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Medication Management:
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure correct dosage, strength, and medication is provided to patients as per prescriptions.
- Ensure medications are dispensed according to NABH safety standards, minimizing errors in the process.
- Monitor and report medication-related discrepancies or concerns.

2. Patient Safety & Education::




- Ensure that patient medication profiles are updated regularly.
- Provide basic medication information to patients and their families as per the guidance of the supervising pharmacist.
- Help in educating patients about the correct use of prescribed drugs, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Monitor for adverse drug reactions and report them to the relevant medical personnel.

3. Hospital Protocol Adherence:
- Follow hospitals infection control and safety protocols when handling medications and pharmaceutical equipment.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and contribute to NABH audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information as per hospital policies and relevant privacy laws.

4. Record Keeping & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of drug prescriptions, medication distribution, and patient consultations.
