Role & responsibilities
- Ensure smooth handing over and taking over of patients, unit status, pending procedures, and critical updates in every shift.
- Receive and verify the right patient for the planned procedure, labour management, delivery, or emergency obstetric intervention, ensuring correct identification and documentation.
- Ensure proper nursing care for antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal patients in LDR according to the patients condition and clinical priorities, adapting the OT-focused patient-care responsibility from the source JD to the LDR setting.
- Monitor labour progress, maternal condition, fetal wellbeing, pain management, and immediate recovery status, and escalate abnormal findings to the treating consultant or duty doctor without delay.
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, delivery preparedness, emergency readiness, and discharge-related communication with doctors, NICU, OT, pharmacy, lab, and patient care teams, based on the source JDs coordination responsibilities.
- Prepare duty rosters for staff as per unit requirement and ensure continuity of coverage,



while routing leave approval through the Nursing Head as indicated in the source JD.
- Ensure availability of all necessary materials, emergency drugs, consumables, instruments, linen, baby care items, and unit stationery required for uninterrupted LDR services, adapting the source JDs OT inventory responsibility to LDR operations.
- Maintain stock records, registers, checklists, and documentation related to medicines, consumables, equipment, crash cart readiness, delivery sets, and other unit-controlled items.

time effectively.
