Job Summary

We are looking for a Principal Backend Engineer / Backend Architect to drive backend architecture, engineering standards, and technical strategy across our e-commerce platform. The role will focus on building secure, scalable, resilient, cloud-native and high-performance backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

Define and maintain backend and platform architecture across PIM, ERP, Commerce, CMS and Marketing systems.

Design scalable microservices, modular monoliths, APIs and event-driven architectures.

Own and contribute to Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and backend engineering standards.

Drive CI/CD, cloud-native development,



containerization and Kubernetes practices.

Establish strategies for security, observability, monitoring, logging, alerting and disaster recovery.

Define unit, integration, API contract, acceptance and performance testing strategies.

Drive SLAs, SLOs, SLIs, Golden Signals and backend performance monitoring.

Provide technology consultancy and selection based on scalability, performance, security and compliance.

Support major e-commerce and enterprise projects and work with cross-functional engineering teams.

Mentor engineers and promote best practices across the backend engineering organisation.
