Assistant Manager - Buyer

As a Assistant Manager - Buyer, You will report to Manager Sourcing

Responsibilities/Duties:-
- F ormulate and execute sourcing strategies for Machining, Casting, Forging, and other related commodities.
- Drive supplier development programs to enhance performance, improve quality outcomes, and ensure resilient supply continuity aligned with organizational priorities.
- Regularly benchmark the existing supply base and challenge the competitiveness of existing suppliers.
- Anticipate potential risks to the supply chain based on suppliers’ financial health, capacity, change in business profile, regulations, etc.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve manufacturing & aftermarket goals including Zero Based Costing.
- Building and maintaining robust relationships with commodity suppliers.
- Resolving vendor disputes and any commodity related issues.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives like VAVE, localization, resourcing etc.
- Monitor commodity price trends, analyze cost structures and identify savings opportunities.



Ensure supplier compliance with company policies and standards.

Work closely with engineering, quality, production, and planning teams. Support new product development (NPD) sourcing activities.
To succeed, you will need

Qualifications/Knowledge & Work Experience:

Bachelor of Engineering background (Mechanical, Production).

8 to 9 years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing/Purchasing/Procurement.

Able to read a technical drawing with tolerances & specification.

Experience in Casting, Forging, Machining, Rubber, Plastic, Prop., Hardware etc commodities.

Knowledge in supply chain processes and manufacturing processes.

Strong negotiation and commercial acumen . Analytical and data-driven decision-making

supplier relationship management

Risk assessment, market research, data analysis, contract management,

strategic thinking, communication skills, cost analysis & r esilient Mindset.
