Role Overview

Senior SAP PM Functional Consultant to support an ECC to S/4HANA conversion project. Full project lifecyclefrom discovery and fit-gap analysis through design, configuration, testing, cutover, and hypercare stabilization. Proven experience delivering S/4HANA migration engagements and deep functional knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance / Enterprise Asset Management (PM/EAM) processes, S/4HANA simplifications, and the evolution toward SAP Asset Management (S/4HANA EAM).

Project Responsibilities

Migration & Conversion

- Lead fit-gap analysis for PM/EAM processes; document delta requirements and identify S/4HANA simplification impacts (changes to linear asset management, current Fiori-based maintenance execution, changes to notifications and work orders, integration with EWM for parts).
- Evaluate conversion implications for open maintenance orders, maintenance plans, and functional location/equipment hierarchies.
- Map and validate PM configuration objects: functional location structures, equipment categories, maintenance order types, task lists, maintenance plans, work centers, and catalog profiles.
- Support PM master data migration: functional locations, equipment master, measurement points, maintenance plans, and BOMs using SAP Migration Cockpit (LTMC) or LSMW; validate data quality and completeness.
- Review and resolve SPDD/SPAU items related to PM customizations.
- Identify PM custom enhancements (user exits, BADIs) requiring S/4HANA compatibility remediation; coordinate with ABAP team.

Design & Configuration





- Configure S/4HANA Plant Maintenance / Enterprise Asset Management including functional locations, equipment, maintenance orders, notifications, task lists, maintenance plans, and calibration.
- Design integration with MM (spare parts procurement, MRP for maintenance materials), CO (order settlement, cost centers), WM/EWM (parts management), and QM (calibration inspection lots).
- Leverage S/4HANA EAM enhancements such as Fiori-based maintenance execution apps and improved linear asset management where applicable.
- Develop functional specifications for RICEFW objects (custom reports, interfaces, forms, enhancements) needed in S/4HANA.

Testing & Cutover

- Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression test scripts covering PM processes (corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance scenarios).
- Support UAT coordination; triage and resolve defects.
- Define PM cutover tasks: open order migration, maintenance plan activation, equipment and functional location loads; participate in mock cutovers.
- Support hypercare stabilization post go-live.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

- Engage maintenance, reliability, and operations stakeholders; facilitate fit-gap workshops and secure design decisions on S/4HANA-driven process changes.
- Produce project documentation:



configuration workbooks, functional specs, test scripts, and training materials.
- Report risks and recommendations to project leadership.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 7+ years hands-on SAP PM/EAM functional consulting experience.
- Minimum 2 full-lifecycle ECC to S/4HANA conversion projects in a lead PM role.
- Deep knowledge of SAP PM/EAM processes: corrective, preventive, and condition-based maintenance; calibration; refurbishment.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA EAM simplifications and Fiori-based maintenance execution.
- Experience with PM master data migration (functional locations, equipment, maintenance plans) using SAP Migration Cockpit or LSMW.
- Strong understanding of PM integration with MM, CO, and QM modules.
- Experience with SAP Activate methodology.
- Proficiency writing functional specifications and collaborating with ABAP developers on RICEFW objects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to manage competing project priorities and meet milestones.

Preferred Qualifications

- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Asset Management (current version preferred).
- Experience with SAP Predictive Asset Insights or Asset Performance Management (APM) integration.
- Familiarity with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) for spare parts.
- Experience with linear asset management for utilities, pipelines, or transportation infrastructure.
- Prior consulting experience in a project delivery model with a system integrator.
