Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety Compliance

Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and Factory Act safety standards.

2. Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

Conduct daily safety inspections in production, packaging, cold storage, boiler, and warehouse areas. Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.

3. Accident Prevention & Investigation

Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents. Prepare reports and suggest preventive measures.

4. Training & Awareness

Conduct safety induction, fire drill, PPE training, and food hygiene training for all staff and workers.

5. PPE & Equipment Management

Ensure all employees use proper PPE. Monitor fire extinguishers, first aid boxes, emergency exits, and safety equipment.

6. Food Safety Integration

Work with QA team to ensure personal hygiene, pest control, and sanitation SOPs are followed in food processing areas.

7. Documentation & Audit

Maintain safety records, incident logs, audit reports. Coordinate with government inspectors and 3rd party audits.

Emergency Preparedness

Prepare and implement Emergency Response Plan, Evacuation Plan for fire, chemical spill, and machine breakdown.

Requirements:

- Education: Diploma/B.E in Safety Engineering or B.Sc with Industrial Safety Diploma
- Certification: NEBOSH / IOSH / Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred
- Experience: 3-6 years experience in Food Processing, FMCG, or Manufacturing plant
- Knowledge: FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000, Factory Act, Fire Safety, Chemical Safety
- Skills: Good communication in Tamil & English, Reporting, Training skills, MS Office

Other Requirements:

Must be able to work in shifts. Physically fit for factory floor rounds.
