The Pathology Technician is responsible for collecting, processing, and analysing clinical specimens to support accurate and timely diagnosis. The role ensures proper operation of laboratory equipment, adherence to safety and infection control protocols, and compliance with hospital and NABH standards.

- Key Responsibilities

- Collect, label, and process clinical specimens such as blood, urine, stool, and other body fluids.

- Perform routine pathological tests including haematology, biochemistry, and serology.

- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment like analysers, centrifuges, microscopes, and autoclaves.

- Prepare slides, stains, and reagents for microscopic examination.

- Record, interpret, and report test results accurately and on time.

- Maintain proper inventory of reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies.

- Follow strict infection control, biosafety, and hospital safety protocols.

- Assist in quality control, calibration, and NABH compliance activities.

- Collaborate with pathologists, lab staff, and clinicians for smooth workflow.





- Qualifications Experience

- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or B.Sc . in Medical Laboratory Science / Pathology.

- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical pathology laboratory (fresher s may be considered).

- Knowledge of laboratory safety, pathological techniques, and infection control.

- Skills Competencies

- Proficiency in routine pathology tests and laboratory equipment handling.

- Accuracy and attention to detail in specimen processing and reporting.

- Awareness of infection control, biosafety, and NABH laboratory standards.

- Ability to work under supervision and in a team setting.

- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
