Job Summary

Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Python, FastAPI, and MongoDB. The ideal candidate is strong in debugging, core backend problem solving, architecting scalable systems, and leveraging AI-driven approaches to enhance development and design workflows. You will play a key role in designing backend infrastructure, building robust APIs, improving system performance, and mentoring teams through technical challenges.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems and microservices.
- Develop RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with frontend and third-party services.
- Lead the design of end-to-end system architecture, including infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Work extensively with MongoDB including schema design, indexing, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning.
- Optimize queries and data models for scalable, high-throughput applications.
- Debug complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver robust fixes.
- Identify systemic issues and propose long-term solutions.
- Create detailed use cases, troubleshoot technical debt, and improve existing codebases.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate development workflows (e.g., debugging, architecture suggestions, documentation).




- Explore opportunities to integrate AI into backend systems and automation tasks.
- Contribute to infrastructure planning: cloud services, containerization, CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA).
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.

Required Skills

- 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Solid proficiency in Python and frameworks such as FastAPI (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB (mandatory).
- Excellent debugging, code-analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of backend design patterns, multithreading, concurrency, and API security.
- Experience designing scalable infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, CI/CD (preferred).
- Ability to create clear technical documentation and use-case diagrams.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to improve development efficiency.

Good to Have

- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming.
- Exposure to distributed systems, message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
