Role & responsibilities
- Lead the overall Engineering and Process Engineering function.
- Develop and implement Engineering strategy, technology roadmap, budgets, and KPIs aligned with business objectives.
- Lead New Product Development (NPD), localization, feasibility, industrialization, APQP and PPAP activities.
- Drive productivity improvement, cost reduction, cycle-time reduction, OEE improvement, and process optimization.
- Lead development and improvement of dies, tools, fixtures, gauges, automation, and special-purpose equipment.
- Drive process standardization, continuous improvement, quality improvement, and manufacturing excellence.
- Lead planning, technical evaluation, implementation, commissioning, and validation of machines and engineering projects.
- Drive engineering-related FMEA, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements.
- Manage engineering changes, drawings, BOMs, technical documentation, and change-control processes.
- Develop and manage tooling, equipment, and engineering suppliers in coordination with Purchase and Quality.
- Ensure effective cross-functional coordination with Production, Quality, Purchase, Maintenance, Tool Room, R&D;, and other functions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Engineering, Process Engineering, Tooling, and CAD/Design teams.
Preferred candidate profile
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
- 15 - 17 years of relevant experience, preferably in the automotive / auto-component industry.
- Solid experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, NPD, Industrialization, Tooling, and Productivity Improvement.
- Proven experience in team leadership and cross-functional project management
