Position - Software Tester (Payments / POS / UPI)

Grade - Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager

Location - Mumbai

Reporting to Assistant Vice President Solutions & Innovation

Qualification

Bachelors degree in computer science / IT / Electronics / Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

46 years of experience in software testing, preferably in fintech or payment systems. Proven experience with POS terminals, UPI integrations, and digital transaction workflows.

Hands-on experience in functional, regression, and API testing using tools like Postman.

Exposure to payment applications such as UPI, POS, QR, or payment gateways.

Familiarity with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla) and Agile/Scrum methodology.

Domain

Knowledge Competencies

- Understanding of payment transaction lifecycle authorization, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of UPI flows, POS transactions, QR payments, and failure/reversal scenarios.
- Familiarity with API testing (REST/JSON/XML), data validation, and integration testing.




- Awareness of compliance standards like RBI guidelines and PCI-DSS in payment systems.

Position

Objective / Responsibilities

- Testing Planning & Execution:

Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios based on business and functional requirements.

- Functional & Regression Testing:

Perform end-to-end testing of applications including payment flows, ensuring system stability after enhancements or bug fixes.

- API Testing:

Validate APIs using tools like Postman; verify request/response structures, data accuracy, and error handling.

- Defect Management:

Identify, log, track, and retest defects using tools like JIRA; work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.

- Integration Testing:

Test integrations with banks, payment gateways, OEMs, and third-party systems to ensure seamless transaction processing.

- UAT Support:

Coordinate with business teams during UAT, assist in validation, and ensure all acceptance criteria are met.

- Test Documentation:

Maintain test plans, test cases, defect logs, and test summary reports for audit and reference.

- Compliance & Quality Assurance:

Ensure applications meet regulatory and security standards, including RBI and PCI-DSS guidelines.

Compensation
