The RuPay Product Core is responsible for building, enhancing, and evolving the core product capabilities of the RuPay card network across domestic and international markets. The role focuses on architecting largescale payment platforms, strengthening the schemes core infrastructure, driving innovation aligned with global card payment ecosystems, and ensuring bestinclass product design backed by strong regulatory and EMVCo fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the development and enhancement of the RuPay Core Product Stack, including issuance, acceptance, processing, authentication, compliance and risk controls.
- Drive endtoend development of foundational capabilities, modernization and roadmap for EMV authorization flows, 3DS authentication, global switching, routing, risk-based evaluation, Tokenization and authorization standards
- Collaborate with technology, operations, and security teams to evolve platform performance, throughput efficiency, and latency improvements.
- Lead ecosystem alignment for certification, compliance, and deployment of EMVCo-driven changes.
- End-to-End Solution Ownership : Define solution architecture, scope, timelines, and delivery plans.
- Ensure full compliance with RBI, EMVCo, PCI-DSS, network, and data security regulations.
- Interpret new regulatory guidelines and translate them into product features, ecosystem advisories, and implementation frameworks.
- Work closely with issuers, acquirers, regulator, payment processors, fintechs, and OEM partners to drive adoption of core features
- Monitor transaction throughput, operational metrics, success rates, and partner performance; identify and drive resolution of systemic issues.
- Be able to independently handle technical assignments,



especially around design and architecture for payment APIs (with a focus on Card Payments).
- Demonstrate the ability to read and understand code, as well as have a explicit grasp of development and testing lifecycles, including commonly used tools.
- Be capable of writing comprehensive Technical Specification Documents (including API specifications) and creating standardized templates.
- Technical Solution Design: Translate business requirements into detailed solution designs and API-based architectures.
- Provide clear articulation of technical workflows to non-technical stakeholders.

Key skills and Experience required:

- Bachelors degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics, or related technical fields.
- MBA (preferred) Finance / Product Management / Strategy / Marketing / FinTech / Digital Business
- Candidates with postgraduate programs in payments, digital banking, or financial technologies will have an added advantage.
- 1015 years of experience in payments, card networks, fintech, banking, or product management roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Deep understanding of card-on-device tokenization and EMVCo standards.
