Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with 6-8 years of hands-on experience specializing as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Palo Alto VPN configuration and implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing Palo Alto Networks VPN solutions to ensure secure and reliable connectivity for our enterprise network. This role requires solid technical expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, VPN technologies, and network security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, configure, and implement site-to-site and remote access VPN solutions using Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Serve as the SME for all Palo Alto VPN-related implementations, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting expertise.
- Manage and maintain VPN configurations, policies, and tunnels for optimal performance and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design network security architectures and deploy VPN technologies in alignment with business needs.
- Perform regular health checks, audits, and monitoring of VPN connectivity and security.
- Analyze and resolve complex VPN-related issues and incidents promptly.
- Document VPN configurations, processes, and best practices for ongoing support and future reference.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to junior network engineers and support staff.
- Stay current with Palo Alto Networks product updates, VPN technologies, and cybersecurity trends.




- Support network architecture initiatives and participate in network troubleshooting escalations.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in network engineering with a focus on Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Deep expertise in Palo Alto VPN technologies including GlobalProtect, site-to-site IPsec VPNs, SSL VPNs, and Client VPN configurations.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL), and network security principles.
- Proven experience with firewall policy creation, NAT, routing, and VPN troubleshooting on Palo Alto platforms.
- Experience with Palo Alto Panorama or similar centralized management tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation (Python, Ansible, etc.) for network configurations is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) preferred.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience working in enterprise or large-scale network environments.
- Knowledge of broader Palo Alto security features (Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, WildFire).
- Understanding of IT compliance standards and secure network design.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to network outages or attacks.
