Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking skilled and dedicated candidates to join our R&D; team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing new plant varieties and improving existing ones through cutting-edge breeding techniques. The Plant Breeder will be responsible for planning and executing breeding programs, conducting research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve breeding objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement breeding strategies to achieve desired plant traits and improvements.

- Plan and coordinate sowing activities, field layouts, and other breeding-related tasks.

- Plan and execute controlled crosses to produce desired genetic combinations.

- Oversee generation advancement processes for varietal development.





- Conduct DUS characterization of all products and their parental lines

- Maintain accurate breeder records, including field books, and ensure systematic data recording and entry.

- Execute the crossing program to produce high quantities of crossed seeds for further evaluation and distribution.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate research findings and breeding progress to internal stakeholders to acheive the breeding program goals

Education Qualification

- Master of Science - Genetics & Plant Breeding
- Doctor of Philosophy - Genetics and Plant Breeding
