Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager – HR will be responsible for managing end-to-end Talent Acquisition along with key HR Operations activities. The role will work closely with business stakeholders and HR leadership to ensure timely manpower fulfilment, smooth onboarding, employee lifecycle management and effective implementation of HR processes and policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for assigned functions and positions.
- Understand manpower requirements and prepare detailed job descriptions in coordination with hiring managers.
- Source candidates through job portals, LinkedIn, employee referrals, consultants and other relevant channels.
- Screen and shortlist candidates based on role requirements, experience and organizational fit.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and business stakeholders.
- Manage candidate communication throughout the recruitment process.
- Conduct initial HR discussions and coordinate further evaluation rounds.
- Handle salary discussions, offer negotiations and offer rollouts.
- Ensure timely joining of selected candidates and maintain regular pre-joining engagement.
- Maintain recruitment trackers and monitor TAT, ageing, offer-to-join ratio and closure status.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and recurring positions.
- Coordinate with recruitment consultants and monitor their performance.
2. HR Operations
- Manage employee lifecycle processes including joining, onboarding,
transfers, confirmations, exits and full & final coordination.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of employee documentation and HR records.
- Coordinate employee onboarding, induction and joining formalities.
- Maintain employee data and ensure timely updates in HRMS/HRIS.
- Support attendance, leave and payroll-related inputs in coordination with relevant teams.
- Handle employee queries related to HR policies, processes and documentation.
- Support implementation of HR policies and ensure adherence to organizational processes.
- Coordinate background verification and other pre-employment formalities.
- Maintain HR MIS and prepare periodic reports for management.
- Support employee engagement and HR initiatives.
3. Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business heads, functional managers and department SPOCs to understand manpower and HR requirements.
- Provide regular updates on open positions, hiring progress and HR operational matters.
- Work closely with Finance, Administration and other cross-functional teams for smooth employee lifecycle processes.
- Act as an HR point of contact for assigned business functions.
4. HR Compliance & Process Management
- Ensure compliance with company HR policies and processes.
- Maintain accurate and updated employee records and documentation.
- Support statutory and internal HR compliance requirements.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance HR efficiency.
- Ensure confidentiality and appropriate handling of employee information.
5. HR Analytics & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain HR dashboards and MIS related to:
- Manpower
- Recruitment
- Attrition
- Joining and onboarding
- Employee movements
- Attendance and other HR metrics
- Analyse HR data and provide relevant insights to HR leadership.
- Track recruitment and HR Operations KPIs and ensure timely closure of action items.

Qualification & Experience
- Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in HR preferred.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Talent Acquisition and HR Operations.
- Experience in retail, fashion, lifestyle or other quick-paced organizations would be preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, HRMS/HRIS and recruitment platforms.
