The Opportunity:

Job Title: Data Governance Analyst
Experience: 2+ Years
Location: Hyderabad (Hybrid)

Position Summary:

The Data Governance Analyst is a critical contributor to the organization’s data governance program, focused on the analysis, protection, and responsible use of sensitive enterprise data throughout its lifecycle. This role supports the enterprise data security and information protection effort by monitoring and analyzing data access activity, supporting Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives, and partnering with Data Stewards and cross-functional teams to operationalize the governance frameworks, policies, and controls that safeguard enterprise data assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze data access activity across data governance and data protection toolsets to identify potential security risks and maintain a explicit audit trail of data access events.
Support Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives in coordination with cybersecurity teams, including reviewing alerts, tuning detection rules, and investigating potential data exfiltration incidents.
Perform data classification analysis to ensure sensitive data is appropriately labeled, handled, and protected across systems and platforms.




Support insider risk management activities by analyzing user behavior and access patterns to detect anomalous or high-risk activity and escalating findings as appropriate.
Contribute to data lifecycle management practices, including data retention, minimization, and secure disposal, to reduce risk and regulatory liability without compromising business needs.
Document data protection controls, classification standards, handling requirements, and compliance obligations for managed data assets.
Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
Contribute to data quality and data protection improvement initiatives and corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate with key stakeholders—including privacy, legal, risk, and technology teams—to embed data governance and data protection requirements into enterprise processes.
Develop and deliver data governance and data protection training and awareness programs for associates at all levels within the organization.
Foster a culture of data stewardship, data protection, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

Knowledge of data lifecycle management, data loss prevention (DLP), insider risk management, and data architecture concepts.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), healthcare coding systems (ICD, CPT), and clinical terminologies (SNOMED, LOINC).
Understanding of compliance requirements with regulations like GDPR, HIPAA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficiency in data governance and data protection tools a plus (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Varonis, Collibra, Databricks, Informatica, Alation) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI).
Knowledge of SQL and data querying tools is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience. (Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field)




2+ years of experience in data governance, data protection, data security, or data management within a healthcare setting. Experience in Revenue Cycle Management.
Ensemble Preferred License / Certification (Ex: CRCR) ONE CERTIFICATION PER FIELD
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), AHIMA Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA), DAMA Certified Data Steward, or a relevant data protection or information security certification (e.g., CIPP, CompTIA Security+)
