What awaits you/ Job Profile
- You will be managing and responsible for Interior & Exterior System development with cross functional team for the scope defined by module organization
- You will be responsible for ensuring that the releases required for the managed parts scope including the product functions for respective carline
- You will be responsible for reporting problems, risks, deviations from planning or targets, etc. and offering solutions/alternates for the same
What should you bring along
- Minimum 15+ years of professional experience in automotive Design and Development and should have delivered at least 2 complete projects as Module Leader / Lead Engineer / equivalent role
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders to achieve set targets
- A proactive, teamwork-oriented mindset with the ability to operate in a multicultural environment across different time zones.
- Valuable communication and English language skills (German language is an advantage)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Must have technical skill
- Manage and simultaneously bring together cross-functional development (features/functions, costs, weight, quality, deadline), validation, vehicle integration, development releases for all components of the module organization scope up to end of production (EOP)
- Make technical decisions with respect to the Exterior & Interior module teams (including but not limited to metal and plastic parts) and assume role of technical manager for the Lead Engineers / Team Leads in the module team
- Document and carry out the change and maturity level management, risk considerations, etc. considering the project and integration milestones
- Specify and agree upon targets, requirements, standards, methods etc. and ensure their distribution within the module in collaboration with respective stakeholders
- Make decisions on changes within the specified cost limits for the module team
- Manage, handle and resolve the areas for action identified in the context of the “problem management process” or the “risk management process”, report and document the status of the same
- Act as representative in cooperation with the responsible purchasing department with respect to external partners for the scope defined by the module organization
- Solid technical understanding of design intent, tolerances, and production feasibility.
- Working knowledge of CATIA
Good to have Technical skills
- Experience working with BMW Engineering
- Lead regular module meetings with relevant stakeholders
- Mediating and de-escalating conflicts within the Module team
- Escalate with necessary supporting artifacts
- Initiate and implement, process and product improvements, incorporating insights (“Lessons Learnt”).
- Create general overview of all projects incl. the current status on goal achievement and design/development completion forecast as well as making and demanding decisions
