Job Title - MS Fabric Analytics Data Architect
Experience Required - 8+ Years
Timezone - 4:30 PM 1:30 AM IST (aligned to client time zone)
Budget - 1.5-1.6 LPM

Work Mode - Remote
Duration: 3 to 6 months and above

Profile: Senior data architect with hands-on Microsoft Fabric expertise and enterprise modelling depth
Primary Focus: Designing the full data architecture across Medallion layers on Microsoft Fabric
Experience: 10+ years in data architecture and enterprise analytics platforms

DELIVERY EXPECTATION

This is a blueprint role, not a build role. The client is establishing an enterprise data platform on Microsoft Fabric and needs an architect who can design the full modelling stack from raw ingestion through to analytics-ready gold layer assets. Engineers and BI developers will implement from your designs:

End-to-end data model architecture spanning conceptual, logical and physical layers for Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse.
Medallion Architecture design: defining bronze ingestion patterns, silver harmonisation standards, and gold reporting models.
Conformed dimensions, fact tables, reference data structures, master data views and analytics-ready datasets.
Source-to-target mappings handed to engineers as working specifications, not verbal briefs.
Power BI semantic model structure ensuring data shapes are performant, clear and business-friendly before they reach the report layer.
Governance outputs: business definitions, model assumptions, lineage, data quality rules and known limitations, all documented.

ARCHITECTURE RESPONSIBILITIES Data Modelling Strategy

Define modelling patterns and standards for Fabric Lakehouse, Fabric Warehouse and Power BI semantic consumption across the platform.
Establish model grain, business keys, surrogate keys, relationship cardinality, hierarchies and history handling conventions.

Design conformed dimensions and fact table structures that work across multiple subject areas and reporting domains.
Align all models with enterprise naming standards, glossary terms, metadata cataloguing and access classification requirements.

Medallion Layer Design

Bronze layer: define raw data onboarding patterns, landing zone structures and source system representation standards.
Silver layer: design reusable, cleansed and harmonised datasets that go beyond simple copies of source data, adding business context and standardisation.
Gold layer: architect reporting-ready models built around KPIs, business questions and decision-making needs rather than source system structures.

Cross-Team Engagement

Work directly with domain teams to surface business processes, data ownership boundaries, key metrics and analytical requirements.
Translate business language into accurate data model specifications that engineers can implement without ambiguity.
Identify and resolve duplicated reporting datasets and inconsistent KPI definitions across the organisation.
Support Power BI semantic model design reviews, ensuring the modelling layer beneath reports is sound before development begins.

PLATFORM KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Solid hands-on familiarity with the following is expected:

Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse
Dimensional Modelling (Kimball / Data Vault)
Microsoft Fabric Warehouse
Source-to-Target Mapping
Power BI Semantic Models
Data Lineage & Metadata Management
Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)

Enterprise Data Governance Frameworks

COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION

Able to operate at both strategic and detailed levels: presenting architecture decisions to senior stakeholders and writing precise specs for engineers.
Experienced facilitating workshops and discovery sessions with domain teams who may have limited data literacy.
Produces documentation that is usable by teams long after the architect has moved on, not just slide decks.
Comfortable working remotely with globally distributed engineering and business teams across time zones.
