Summary:
We are looking for an Associate Backup Administrator to join our infrastructure operations team, supporting L2 & L3 backup operations. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise backup technologies and exposure to at least two of the three backup platforms: Avamar, AWS Backup, and Rubrik.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage daily backup and recovery jobs across enterprise environments.
- Perform L2 troubleshooting and resolution of backup failures, alerts, and incidents within defined SLAs.
- Assist in L3 escalations by collecting diagnostic data, logs, and coordinating with senior engineers.
- Execute scheduled and ad-hoc restore operations for servers, VMs, databases, and files.
- Manage backup policies, schedules, retention rules, and storage pools in Avamar, AWS Backup, and/or Rubrik.
- Document backup procedures, runbooks, and incident reports.
- Monitor backup storage capacity and raise alerts for threshold breaches.
- Coordinate with OS, database, and application teams for backup integration.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours backup support.
- Maintain and update change records using ITSM tools (ServiceNow or equivalent).
Technical Skills & Tools
- Proficiency in at least 2 of: Avamar, AWS Backup, Rubrik
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux OS environments
- Basic understanding of VMware vSphere/vCenter backup integration
- Exposure to ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira
- Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, PowerShell, or Python) for automation




Mandatory Backup Tool Requirement: Candidates must have hands-on experience in at least 2 of the following 3 backup platforms: Avamar, AWS Backup, and Rubrik.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Commvault Backup Administration, EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration.
- Experience in managing backup and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve backup-related incidents efficiently.
- Familiarity with storage systems and data protection strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors and internal teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 2–4 years of experience in enterprise backup/recovery administration
- Hands-on experience with at least 2 of the 3 backup tools: Avamar, AWS Backup, Rubrik
- Understanding of backup concepts: full, incremental, differential, deduplication, replication
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- ITIL Foundation certification is a plus
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- Any vendor-specific backup certification (Avamar, Rubrik, or AWS)
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
- Familiarity with Backup Architecture concepts

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Commvault Backup Administration.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
