Job Title: Research Engineer – Computer Vision & Video Analytics Location: Kolkata / Hybrid

Job Summary:

The Research Engineer will contribute to high-impact projects, innovating in areas like image

processing, computer vision, and statistical pattern recognition. This role involves working closely

with senior researchers, utilising state-of-the-art methods in machine learning and deep learning

to enhance video analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement algorithms for computer vision and image/video analytics.

• Perform data analysis and model training using machine learning and deep learning

frameworks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate visual data analytics solutions into

existing systems.

• Stay up-to-date with advancements in machine learning, deep learning, and video

processing technologies.

• Conduct experiments, analyse results, and refine models to ensure high accuracy and

efficiency.

• Document research findings and present insights to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related

field. Ph.D. candidates or those with significant research experience in computer vision

and video analytics are preferred.





• Experience: 2+ years in research or industry roles focused on computer vision, machine

learning, or video analytics.

• Technical Skills:

◦ Proficiency in programming languages: Python, C/C++, MATLAB.

◦ Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

◦ Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, WEKA) and libraries.

◦ Knowledge of video compression formats (H.264, HEVC) and background

modelling techniques is advantageous.

Research Contributions: Publications in relevant conferences/journals or patents in

computer vision or related fields are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.

• Prior experience in projects related to surveillance video processing, real-time analytics, or

traffic data analysis.
