Job DescriptionAbout the Role
nAs an Associate Customer Engineer — Onboarding Specialist, you will be the frontline technical owner of the customer onboarding experience.
nYou will guide newly provisioned customers through the initial setup and configuration of Cloudflare products, validate their deployment, troubleshoot common technical issues, and ensure they achieve their first value from the platform.
nThis is a non-quota-carrying, customer-facing technical role. Success will be measured by onboarding velocity, time-to-value, customer satisfaction, quality of documentation, and effective collaboration with Customer Engineers, Account Executives, Support, and Professional Services teams.
nThe ideal candidate combines technical troubleshooting skills, networking fundamentals, customer empathy, structured communication, and a robust willingness to learn.
nKey Responsibilities
n1. Customer Onboarding & Technical Enablement

- Own the end-to-end technical onboarding journey for assigned customers.n
- Conduct structured onboarding and enablement calls.n




- Guide customers through foundational Cloudflare configurations, including:n
- DNS records and DNS changesn
- SSL/TLS configurationn
- CDN and caching settingsn
- WAF rulesn
- Zero Trust policiesn
- Authentication and identity integrationsn
- Validate traffic flow and application behavior after configuration changes.n
- Follow approved onboarding runbooks and implementation procedures.n
- Troubleshoot common onboarding issues such as:n
- DNS resolution failuresn
- SSL/TLS certificate errorsn
- Incorrect caching behaviorn
- Authentication failuresn
- HTTP 4xx/5xx errorsn
- Identify situations that fall outside standard runbooks and escalate appropriately.n
- Ensure customers can independently operate the Cloudflare platform before onboarding closure.n
