Role Description
This is an independent consultant engagement with commission-only compensation and no fixed salary or retainer.
The Business Development Partner role is remote and focused on bringing recent business to Essentient's AI and software services. The partner independently identifies and develops new business opportunities, leverages their professional network and referrals, conducts discovery conversations, and manages opportunities through negotiation and closure.




The partner will work with Essentient's technical team on solution scoping, proposals, pricing and client presentations. The ideal candidate can independently originate and close software, AI, automation or SaaS projects and already has a professional or client network that can be approached for new business.
Qualifications
2–10 years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in IT services, software, SaaS, AI or automation.
Proven ability to independently originate and close deals.
Existing client or professional network that can generate new opportunities.
Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Ability to understand business challenges and position appropriate technology solutions.
Familiarity with AI, SaaS, software development or enterprise technology.
Ability to work independently and manage the business-development lifecycle.
