Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)Position Overview
We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) who thrives at the intersection of engineering, operations, and customer experience. This role is for engineers who don't wait for issues to be assigned—they proactively identify, investigate, and resolve problems before users even report them.
The ideal candidate embraces the mindset:
"I found the issue, so I fixed it."
Instead of filing tickets and waiting for someone else to solve the problem, you'll own issues from discovery through resolution while maintaining close collaboration with both users and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Embed yourself within user communities and operational communication channels to monitor real product usage.
Proactively detect, investigate, reproduce, and resolve product issues before they impact users.
Deliver issue reports together with implemented fixes and supporting evidence.
Translate user and operations feedback into clear engineering requirements and communicate engineering updates back to non-technical stakeholders.
Build lightweight internal tools, scripts, and automations that eliminate repetitive manual work.
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to continuously improve product reliability and user experience.
Validate fixes thoroughly and provide clear documentation demonstrating successful resolution.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of professional experience in Full-Stack Engineering or Product Engineering.
Solid full-stack development skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues.
Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced, and user-facing environments.
Excellent written English communication skills for asynchronous collaboration across multiple time zones.
Demonstrated ownership mentality and strong problem-solving skills.
Able to provide clear evidence that every reported fix has been verified and is working as intended.
