Job description
Job Summary:
The Cloud Modernization Tech Lead for Applications and Databases oversees the migration and optimization of legacy systems to cloud platforms. This role includes designing scalable architectures, ensuring high availability, and integrating cloud-native services to improve performance and reduce costs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Practical work knowledge with AWS DMS or Azure DMS or Google Database Migration Service for cloud transit.
- Cloud Architecture Design: Lead the design of scalable and secure cloud architectures for applications and databases using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Legacy System Migration: Manage migration of legacy applications and databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) to cloud environments, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Optimization: Optimize cloud performance for applications (e.g., microservices, containers) and databases (e.g., RDS, DynamoDB) using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, and query optimization techniques.
- Cloud Service Integration:



Integrate applications and databases with cloud-native services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Kubernetes, and API Gateway) for a unified, efficient workplace.
- High Availability DR: Implement HA and DR solutions for applications and databases, utilizing services like Amazon Aurora, Azure SQL, and Cloud Spanner.
- Security Compliance: Enforce security best practices and compliance using tools such as IAM, encryption, and AWS Shield, ensuring secure cloud deployments.
- Work with architects, app teams, and DevOps to ensure seamless migrations.

Secondary Responsibilities:
- Documentation Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to database design, migration strategies, and performance benchmarks.
- Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor the performance of cloud databases and make adjustments to optimize for cost, speed, and resource utilization.
