Senior Accountant

Department: Accounts & Finance
Industry: FMCG Manufacturing
Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Accounts

Factory Location:Gopinathpur near Kharagpur

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting financial reporting for the manufacturing unit. The role involves cost accounting, inventory accounting, taxation, and coordination with auditors.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and finalize books of accounts including GL, AP, AR, and Bank Reconciliation:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements:
- Store Purchase entry, Sales order entry, Purchase Billing
- Handle cost accounting, product costing, and variance analysis
- Monitor and account for inventory, WIP, and finished goods:
- Ensure accurate accounting of production, consumption, and scrap:
- Hand of Experience in GST & TDS:
- Manage GST compliance including returns, reconciliations,



and assessments
- Handle TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliances:
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors:
- Prepare MIS reports for management review:
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Accounting Standards, and internal controls:
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management:
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff
- Liaise with banks, vendors, and government authorities as required

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) - Mandatory
- M.Com / CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter) - Preferred
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting and taxation:
- Age limit upto 40 years maximum

Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Tally / ERP systems:
- Solid knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax:
- Good understanding of costing and inventory management:
- Advanced skills in MS Excel:
