Role Description:
Pixxel is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Embedded Linux Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will drive the design of cutting-edge payload systems for Pixxel’s satellites from concept to production while ensuring that they meet the required standards. This role requires a strong understanding of embedded programming, operating systems (Linux, RTOS, etc.), and build systems (Yocto, PetaLinux, etc.).

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Closely collaborate with systems engineers to define the specifications, lead the software design/implementation, and integrate/validate software in a larger system.
- Mentor/coach engineers in the team to drive outcomes.




- Translate mission requirements and various satellite subsystem requirements into reliable flight software for Pixxel’s satellites.

Minimum Requirements:
- 2-5 years of hands-on software design and development experience on complex embedded computing platforms.
- Strong in C/C++ programming, data structures and algorithms
- Well-versed with RTOS/Linux and ARM/RISC-V processor architecture
- Hands-on experience in designing and debugging user and kernel space drivers
- Experience with build tools, board support packages, bootloaders, and memory management
- Positive debugging skills using Software/Hardware debuggers.
- Experience with CI/ID and using version control software (preferably Git).

Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Embedded Programming, or similar field
- Experience in designing safety/mission-critical products is a bonus
