About the Role

We are looking for a
Senior Backend Software Engineer I
to join our engineering team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have robust hands-on experience in
Java, Node.js, backend API development, API design, and relational databases
.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable backend services, improving API ecosystems, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to software architecture and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance
scalable backend APIs and services
.
- Build and improve API ecosystems supporting experimentation and product platforms.
- Apply sound
software architecture, design patterns, and coding best practices
.
- Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and system scalability challenges.
- Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Develop and optimize applications using
Java and Node.js
.
- Work with
MySQL or other relational databases




to design efficient data models and queries.
- Drive code quality through refactoring, reviews, testing, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate closely with
Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists
.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
- Drive initiatives focused on
productivity, performance, reliability, and overall software quality
.
- Work effectively with global and cross-functional teams across different time zones.

Required Skills & Experience
- 7–11 years of professional software engineering experience
.
- Strong hands-on experience with
Java and Java development
.
- Strong experience with
Node.js
.
- Proven experience developing
backend APIs and services
.
- Solid understanding of
API design, development, integration, and management
.
- Strong experience with
MySQL or other relational databases
