Role & responsibilities

1. Surface & Pattern Design
- Design aesthetic, trend-aligned surface patterns, motifs, and borders tailored for La Opalas opal glassware collections.
- Conduct market research, track global tabletop trends, and translate them into commercially viable collections.

2. Artwork (AW) Preparation & Technical Pre-Press
- Prepare print-ready, high-resolution artworks with precise color separation suitable for decal production.

3. Adaptations, Curvature Mapping & AI Integration
- Adapt master designs across various shapes and sizes (e.g., dinner plates, bowls, platters, tea sets).
- Apply accurate curvature and warping adjustments so designs fit silhouettes without distortion.
- AI-Assisted Workflow: Utilize basic AI design tools

4. Layout & Sheet Optimization
- Prepare efficient, cost-effective decal sheet layouts to maximize printing yield and minimize material waste.

5. End-to-End Decal Production Oversight




- Coordinate closely with internal production teams and external print vendors to oversee test prints, sampling, and decal firing processes.
- Troubleshoot technical print or firing issues on the factory floor.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in surface design specifically within crockery, ceramic, opal glass, or tableware industries.

Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in color separation for decals and accurate artwork preparation.

Software & Tools Proficiency

Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and core prepress/layout tools.

Bonus: Familiarity with basic AI design tools (e.g., AI vector tools, generative pattern scaling, automated mockups/adaptations) to boost workflow efficiency.
