Role & responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:
- Perform routine microbiological analysis of:
- Raw materials
- Finished products
- In-process samples
- Water samples (PW, WFI)
- Conduct:
- Total Viable Count (TVC)
- Yeast & Mold Count

Water System Monitoring
- Test:
- Purified Water (PW)
- Water for Injection (WFI)
- Perform:
- Microbial count
- Endotoxin testing (LAL test)
- Ensure compliance with pharmacopeial standards (IP, USP)

Culture Handling & Identification
- Maintain microbial cultures:
- Subculturing
- Preservation (slants, glycerol stocks)
- Perform identification using:
- Biochemical tests
- Automated systems
- Maintain culture records and traceability

Media Preparation & Growth Promotion Test (GPT)
- Prepare culture media as per SOP
- Perform:
- Growth Promotion Test (GPT) to verify media performance
- Maintain:
- Media preparation logs
- Autoclave records
- Operate and monitor:
- Autoclaves
- Dry heat ovens
- Perform:
- Biological indicator testing
- Support validation of:
- Cleanroom processes
