Job Title: Estimation Engineer – Mechanical

Role Overview

Seeking a detail-oriented Estimation Engineer to evaluate project specifications, interpret engineering drawings, and deliver accurate cost estimates. This role is open to motivated freshers with solid mechanical fundamentals as well as experienced professionals with up to 5 years of exposure in cost estimation, fabrication, or manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

· Drawing Comprehension: Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication blueprints, assembly layouts, and material specifications.

· Quantity Take-Off (QTO): Calculate weight estimates, machining/fabrication hours, with ability to build comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM).

· Cost Modeling: Develop, update, and maintain detailed cost estimation sheets using Microsoft Excel.

· Vendor Coordination: Obtain and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for raw materials, bought-out items, and special processes (e.g., heat treatment, coating).

· Proposal Support:



Assist in preparing commercial proposals, tender submissions, and cost-breakdown structures for clients.

· Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with design, procurement, and production teams to validate manufacturing feasibility and budget alignments.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

· Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).

· Drawing Reading: Robust ability to interpret drawings, standard symbols, GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and unit conversions.

· Excel Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, complex formulas, and data management).

· Technical Aptitude: Sound understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, sheet metal, casting, or assembly).

· Analytical Mindset: High attention to detail with precise numerical accuracy.

· Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for vendor negotia
