Role & responsibilities
- Supervise plant operations during the shift, ensuring production targets are met.
- Manage and coordinate shift workers, including task allocation and attendance.
- Monitor machinery and equipment performance; report and escalate breakdowns or issues promptly.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and housekeeping standards on the shop floor.
- Conduct quality checks at various stages of production and flag deviations.
- Maintain shift logs, production records, and handover notes for the next shift.
- Coordinate with quality control, maintenance, and stores teams as needed.
- Ensure raw material and finished goods stock is handled and stored correctly.
- Address minor operational issues on the spot; escalate major ones to the Plant Manager.
- Enforce discipline and safety compliance among shift staff.
