A Mechanical Engineering Design Engineer in real estate develops, plans, and oversees the implementation of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) to meet technical and budgetary goals. They review CAD drawings, load calculations, ensure compliance with building codes, and coordinate with construction teams to ensure efficient, sustainable designs.

Job Responsibilities
- System Design & Documentation: Design, Review and Validate MEP (Mechanical and Plumbing) systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, STPs, Basement ventilation systems creating detailed 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and consultants to ensure design integration and resolve design in office technical issues.
- Calculations & Specs: Review and validate load calculations, equipment selection, and develop technical specifications and, or, material take-offs and BOQs, etc.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs comply with national, NBC, local, and safety regulations (e.g., building codes).
- Site Support:



Perform site visits to monitor installation progress, conduct testing, and verify that construction aligns with design specifications.
- Budget & Scheduling: Assist with cost estimations, procurement of materials, and adhere to project timelines.

Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Previous experience of approximately 8 years in design engineering, preferably within real estate or construction projects.
- Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or HAP or pipenet, Mcquay, etc. as required.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy-efficient building systems as per codes and CFO regulations.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
