Mechanical Engineer Logistics Industry

Job Summary:
Responsible for the maintenance, reliability, installation, and improvement of mechanical equipment and material-handling systems used in warehouses, distribution centers, logistics hubs, and transportation facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot conveyors, automated material-handling systems, sorters, elevators, forklifts, palletizers, dock equipment, and other mechanical systems.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and minimize equipment downtime.
- Inspect machinery and identify safety, reliability, and performance issues.
- Coordinate with electrical, automation, and operations teams for equipment repairs and upgrades.
- Manage contractors and maintenance vendors when required.
- Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, spare-parts requirements, and technical documentation.
- Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement root-cause corrective actions.




- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of current logistics equipment.
- Ensure equipment complies with company safety procedures and applicable standards.
- Monitor equipment performance, maintenance costs, and key reliability indicators.
- Participate in continuous-improvement projects to increase equipment availability and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, warehouse automation, manufacturing, material handling, or logistics operations.
- Good knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, shafts, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with CMMS/maintenance-management software is an advantage.
