Junior Civil Engineer

Job description:

We are looking for a versatile Junior Civil Engineer to join our team. This role is unique as it requires a candidate capable of handling both infrastructure development (roads, drainage, and utilities) and building construction. You will be responsible for in office supervision, quality control, and ensuring that projects are executed according to technical specifications and timelines and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Execution
- Supervise daily site activities for both infrastructure works (roads, plotting, leveling, drainage) and building construction.
- Ensure execution aligns perfectly with Approved-for-Construction (AFC) drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate daily with contractors, subcontractors, and site labor to maintain project momentum.

2. Quality Control & Safety
- Inspect incoming materials (cement, steel, aggregates, pipes) and conduct field tests.
- Identify and report construction defects or deviations from drawings immediately.




- Enforce site safety protocols and ensure workers use appropriate PPE.

3. Quantity Surveying & Billing
- Assist in taking site measurements and preparing Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
- Verify subcontractor measurements and assist in processing running account (RA) bills.
- Track material consumption on-site to minimize wastage.

4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain the Daily Progress Report (DPR), site pour cards, and material registers.
- Help the senior team prepare checklists, site logs, and look-ahead schedules.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on site experience in both building construction and infrastructure/land development projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading architectural, structural, and MEP/Infrastructure drawings.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel (for reporting and BBS).
