Job Description – Continental Kitchen Staff

Position: Continental Kitchen Staff / Commis Chef
Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Sous Chef / Executive Chef
Location: Mahadevapura ,Bengaluru

Job Summary

Responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Continental cuisine while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Continental dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist with mise en place, including cutting, chopping, marinating, portioning, and preparation of ingredients.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion size, and presentation.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the senior chef about shortages or wastage.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas.
- Assist senior chefs during busy service periods.




- Minimize food wastage and follow proper portion-control procedures.
- Follow hotel/restaurant policies, HACCP standards, and safety procedures.
- Support other kitchen sections when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Continental kitchen is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Continental cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Valuable teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and discipline in the kitchen.
- Hospitality/Hotel Management qualification is an advantage.
