Job Title: Kafka Support Engineer (L1/L2)

Role Summary:

We are hiring an experienced L1/L2 Confluent Kafka Support Engineer for a BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) client setting. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Kafka administration, Red Hat Linux, and cluster support to ensure high availability and performance of critical messaging infrastructure in a production BFSI setup.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2 production support for Confluent Kafka environments
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve Kafka cluster issues (Brokers, Zookeeper/KRaft, Topics, Partitions)
- Manage Producers, Consumers, and Consumer Groups; troubleshoot consumer lag
- Perform Kafka cluster health checks, capacity monitoring,



and performance tuning
- Handle incident management, root cause analysis, and timely issue resolution
- Support Kafka upgrades, patching, and configuration changes
- Work on Red Hat Linux (RHEL) environments for OS-level troubleshooting and administration
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Infra, App, DBA, Network) for issue resolution
- Ensure adherence to BFSI compliance, security, and audit requirements
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and support documentation
- Participate in on-call/shift-based support rotations as required
