Job Description – 4th Axis VMC Programmer

Position: 4th Axis VMC Programmer
Department: VMC Machining
Employment Type: Full Time
Experience: 3–6 Years

Job Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and optimize VMC/CNC programs for 4th Axis VMC machines.
- Handle 4th Axis rotary table/indexer setup, alignment, and referencing.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T.;
- Strong knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and determine feeds, speeds, and machining parameters.
- Set and manage tool offsets, work offsets (G54–G59), and tool length compensation.
- Perform program simulation, dry runs, prove-outs, and corrections.
- Handle multi-face and indexing machining operations.
- Optimize programs for cycle time, tool life, productivity, and machining quality.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional, and programming-related issues.
- Conduct basic dimensional inspection using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to achieve production and quality targets.




- Maintain CNC programs, tool lists, setup sheets, and machining records.

Required Skills
- Hands-on experience in 4th Axis VMC Programming and Operations.
- Valuable knowledge of Fanuc / Mitsubishi / Siemens controllers preferred.
- Knowledge of Mastercam, NX, PowerMill, Fusion 360, or equivalent CAM software preferred.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Practical knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding.
- Good troubleshooting and precision machining skills.
- Ability to independently handle Programming, Setup, Prove-Out, and Production.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, Tool & Die, or a related field.

Preferred Candidate

Candidate should be capable of independently handling the complete machining process from Drawing → Programming → 4th Axis Setup → Prove-Out → Final Component.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
