Job description

Primary role
- Install recent / rebuild existing servers and configure virtual servers , peripherals, services, settings, storage, in accordance with standards and operational requirements
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, crons, etc
- Regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate recovery tapes , and media is sent off site as necessar & recover from system failures; coordinate and communicate with those impacted.
- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.



Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
- Provide in-depth troubleshooting and technical support, collaborate with teams and document resolutions.
- Manage & maintain Internet firewall & VPN links & communicate appropriately with peers.
- Create Shell Scripts & automize system administration tasks with email alerts.
