Role & responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of all site safety rules, procedures, and EHS requirements.
- Conduct daily site inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Monitor compliance with PPE requirements including helmets, safety shoes, safety harnesses, reflective jackets, gloves, etc.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and regular safety awareness programs for workers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and maintain safety inspection reports, incident reports, permits, checklists, and other EHS documentation.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, excavation, scaffolding, lifting operations, electrical work, hot work, and confined-space work.
- Ensure proper barricading, signage, access control, housekeeping, and safe working conditions at the site.
- Verify work permits and ensure that appropriate safety precautions are in place before commencement of hazardous activities.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors,



contractors, and workers to resolve safety issues.
- Conduct emergency preparedness drills and ensure availability of fire-fighting and first-aid facilities.
- Monitor compliance with applicable statutory safety requirements and project-specific EHS standards.
- Stop unsafe work where there is an immediate risk to life or property and report the matter to the Project Manager.
- Maintain records of safety training, inspections, incidents, PPE issuance, and corrective actions.

Preferred candidate profile
- Proactive and disciplined with a robust safety-oriented approach.
- Willing to work at an active construction site and conduct regular site rounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Experience in handling multiple contractors/subcontractors will be an advantage.
