Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Backup Administrator with 5–8 years of experience to lead L2/L3 backup operations and drive improvements in backup infrastructure. The role demands deep technical expertise in at least two backup platforms (Avamar, AWS Backup, Rubrik), strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities:

Own and resolve complex L2/L3 backup and recovery incidents and service requests.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA)



for recurring or critical backup failures and implement corrective actions.
Implement backup policies, SLAs, retention strategies, and disaster recovery procedures.
Manage multi-platform backup environments spanning on-premises, hybrid, and cloud workloads.
Evaluate and implement performance tuning for backup jobs, data deduplication, and replication.
Drive automation of routine backup tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
Collaborate with architecture and project teams for current backup solution onboarding.
Conduct capacity planning, storage forecasting, and license management for backup tools.
Prepare weekly/monthly operational reports and contribute to service improvement plans.
Manage and maintain backup integrations with VMware, Oracle, SQL Server, SAP, and cloud workloads.
Participate in DR drills and ensure successful restore SLA compliance.
