An Accounts Executive in a manufacturing company is much more than bookkeeping—you're helping manage the financial backbone of operations like production, inventory, and vendor payments. The role blends accounting, compliance, and coordination with multiple departments.
Core Purpose To ensure accurate financial records, smooth cash flow, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements while supporting daily manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities 1. Day-to-day accounting - Recording transactions (sales, purchases, expenses)
Maintaining ledgers and journals
Bank reconciliation 2. Accounts payable & receivable - Managing vendor invoices and payments
Tracking customer payments and follow-ups
Handling credit terms and outstanding balances 3. Inventory & cost tracking - Monitoring raw material and finished goods costs
Working with production teams on stock records
Assisting in cost analysis and budgeting 4. Taxation & compliance - GST filing and returns
TDS calculations and payments
Ensuring compliance with government regulations 5. Financial reporting - Preparing monthly reports (P&L;, balance sheet basics)
Assisting audits
Supporting senior accountants/finance managers Manufacturing-Specific Work This is where it differs from other industries:
Tracking cost of production (raw materials, labor, overhead)
Managing inventory valuation
Coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams
