About the Role

We are looking for a General Manager – Kolkata to own and scale the city as a business unit. This role responsible for offline growth, supply-demand balancing, pricing (rate cards), and end-to-end P&L; ownership. Role would be driving execution on the ground while building scalable systems for long-term growth.

Responsibilities

City P&L; Ownership
Own revenue, margins, and overall profitability for Mumbai
Drive cost efficiencies across supply acquisition, operations, and fulfillment
Build and execute city-level business plans

Offline Growth & Expansion
Lead on-ground growth initiatives to scale demand
Identify high-potential micro-markets and expansion zones
Build partnerships and local networks to accelerate growth

Supply & Demand Management
Ensure optimal supply availability across locations and time slots
Balance demand fluctuations with efficient workforce allocation
Minimize cancellations, delays, and service gaps

Rate Card & Pricing Strategy




Design and optimize city-specific rate cards
Ensure competitive yet profitable pricing
Continuously iterate pricing based on demand-supply dynamics

Operations Excellence
Drive high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction
Set up SOPs and ensure strong execution discipline
Monitor key metrics like fulfillment rate, TAT, and unit economics

Team Leadership
Build, lead, and mentor city teams across operations, supply, and growth
Create a high-performance, ownership-driven culture
Work closely with central teams (product, finance, strategy)

Qualifications

10–15 years of experience in operations, business, or city leadership roles

Required Skills
Solid experience in P&L; ownership and scaling businesses
Background in hyperlocal, marketplace, logistics, or consumer businesses preferred
Proven ability to manage supply-demand marketplaces
Robust analytical thinking with a bias for execution
Comfortable working in quick-paced, ambiguous environments

Preferred Skills
Has run a city/region as a business
Obsessed with numbers, efficiency, and ground execution
Can switch between strategy and hustle on the ground seamlessly
