Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
Assist cardiologists and the Cath Lab team during angiography, angioplasty, PCI, and related procedures.
Monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, and patient condition throughout the procedure.
Administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast media as prescribed.
Maintain sterile techniques and follow infection-control protocols.
Prepare and handle Cath Lab equipment, instruments, and emergency supplies.
Recognize and respond promptly to complications and medical emergencies.
Assist with emergency resuscitation and BLS/ACLS procedures as required.
Provide post-procedure monitoring and care, including access-site assessment.
Maintain accurate patient records, procedure documentation, and medication charts.
Ensure proper stock, sterilization, and readiness of Cath Lab equipment and supplies.
Educate patients and attendants regarding pre- and post-procedure care.
Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient-safety protocols.
