Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to lead a team responsible for a business-critical, high throughput microservices platform. The Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading the engineering team while remaining technically hands-on and accountable for the reliability and performance of the platform.

Candidate has to be willing to work in a platform support role and be on an on-call (PagerDuty) rotation to respond to high priority incidents.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor an offshore engineering team of approximately 7 engineers, providing technical leadership, coaching, and career development.
Own the availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of the microservices platform.
Provide hands-on technical leadership in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and database technologies.
Drive architecture and design decisions to ensure the platform can scale reliably during extreme peak-season traffic and order volumes.
Lead high-severity production incidents and coordinate engineering, SRE, infrastructure, database,



and business teams during critical events.

Technical Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, JPA2, and Hibernate.
Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture, including service communication, asynchronous processing, concurrency, scalability, resiliency, and failure handling.
Solid application and database debugging and performance optimization experience in large-scale production environments.
Robust experience with Java performance profiling, including thread dumps, heap dumps, memory analysis, CPU profiling, garbage collection, deadlocks, and thread contention.
Solid experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or equivalent tools.
Good knowledge of Developer Tools, Fiddler, Wireshark, and network/traffic analysis.
Experience with cloud and edge platforms such as Azure Portal, Akamai, and Kasada is desirable.
Experience working with AI tools would be a plus
