Key Responsibilities
Procure primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials as per production requirements.
Float RFQs (Requests for Quotation), compare quotations, and negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers.
Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs).
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, QA, QC, and Finance departments to ensure material availability.
Monitor supplier delivery performance and follow up for on-time supplies.
Develop and maintain relationships with approved vendors and identify recent suppliers.
Ensure procurement complies with GMP, GDP, and company quality standards.
Coordinate vendor qualification and documentation with the Quality Assurance department.
Maintain procurement records, contracts, price comparisons, and supplier documentation.
Track inventory levels to avoid shortages and excess stock.
Participate in cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and alternate vendor development.
Support audits by providing procurement-related documentation.
Prepare procurement reports, purchase analysis, and MIS reports.

Required Qualifications




Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Science, Pharmacy, or Engineering.
Diploma or MBA in Supply Chain/Materials Management is preferred.

Experience
2–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement, preferably handling packaging materials.
Experience with ERP systems such as MARG, or similar procurement software is desirable.
