CBSE School Librarian – Roles & Responsibilities
Manage and organize books, periodicals, reference materials, and digital resources.
Maintain accession, cataloguing, classification, circulation, and stock records.
Issue and return books and ensure proper shelving and maintenance of library resources.
Encourage students to develop regular reading habits and a lifelong interest in books.
Guide students in selecting appropriate books based on their interests, age, and academic requirements.
Assist students with research, projects, assignments, and information resources.
Conduct library periods and introduce students to effective library and research skills.
Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum-based learning and academic activities.
Organize book exhibitions, reading programmes, book reviews, storytelling sessions, quizzes, and literary activities.
Manage and promote the use of e-books, digital resources,



and online educational materials.
Maintain a well-organized, welcoming, and student-friendly library workplace.
Monitor the condition of library resources and conduct regular stock verification.
Assist in selecting and procuring recent books and resources according to curriculum and student needs.
Prepare library reports and maintain all necessary documentation.
Promote information literacy, independent learning, critical thinking, and responsible use of information.
Keep updated with developments in library science, educational resources, and digital learning.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
