Job Description – Special Educator

Position: Special Educator

Department: Special Education & Therapy Services

Location: Therapy Centre/Clinic

Employment Type: Full time / Part time

Key Responsibilities
Assess and identify children’s educational, developmental, and learning needs.
Develop and implement individualized education and intervention plans.
Provide one-to-one and small-group educational support.
Work on cognitive, academic, attention, memory, and learning skills.
Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning difficulties, developmental delays, and other special needs.
Use structured teaching methods, visual aids, activity-based learning, and individualized strategies.
Monitor and document the child’s progress regularly.
Maintain session records, progress reports, and intervention plans.
Coordinate with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Therapists,



and parents.
Provide parents with appropriate home-based activities and guidance.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to overall treatment planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Special Education or a relevant field.
RCI registration/certification preferred.
Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a child-centred approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Previous experience with children with special needs is preferred.
