LaTeX Template Developer (E-Publishing)

Job Description
Develop, maintain, and customize LaTeX templates based on journal and client-specific requirements.
Create and modify LaTeX class files, style files, and macros as required.
Convert and implement journal layouts, formatting rules, and production specifications in LaTeX.
Troubleshoot and resolve LaTeX compilation errors, formatting issues, and layout problems.
Develop and maintain automation scripts/tools to improve the LaTeX production and validation process.
Analyze production issues and provide effective technical solutions to the pagination and QC teams.
Test templates thoroughly using sample articles before implementation in production.
Coordinate with production, QC, copyediting, and technical teams to resolve template-related issues.
Implement client/journal style changes and ensure templates are updated accordingly.




Maintain proper documentation of template changes, updates, and technical specifications.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive production and validation tasks.
Perform quality checks and regression testing whenever templates or macros are modified.
Support the team in resolving complex PDF output and typesetting issues.
Monitor and improve template performance, consistency, and reliability.
Knowledge of XML/HTML, scripting, or programming languages such as Python/Perl will be an added advantage.
Experience with academic publishing, journal production, or scholarly typesetting is preferred.

Positive analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills are required.
